There are many ways to make your home look luxurious without spending a fortune on designer furniture.

One easy way to achieve the look is by bringing in textures. Textured fabrics are more expensive than the ones you find at the dollar store, but they invite you to touch and feel them.

Another way to create a luxurious look is by using metallic accents.

Cult interior designer Kelly Wearstler has taught us that metallic accents can make a room look incredibly rich. Her inspiration comes from the art movement known as Cubism.

Reflecting Light On Dark Walls

To reflect light on dark walls, you can use an epoxy finish system. However, you need to follow the manufacturer's instructions for applying the finish system.

It is important to make a test panel to determine whether the surface is prepared properly and whether the finish system is compatible with the surface.

Also, make sure you pay attention to the handling characteristics of the coating system you choose. For this purpose, you can refer to a product's safety information and video demo.

Adding A Mirror

Mirrors are a great way to add a sense of luxury to your home.

They are also a great way to improve natural light in your room. They can transform a plain room into a room that feels more spacious and inviting.

You can also add some houseplants for an instant facelift. Not only do they look great, but they will also make you feel good. These are simple ways to add a little luxury to your home.

Adding A Touch Of Color

Epoxy is a versatile substance that can be used for a number of different projects.

Many people color it with liquid or powdered pigments to add an extra artistic flair to a project, whether it be flooring or a countertop, or only a few marbles for decor.

These pigments are usually inexpensive and can be adjusted to achieve the desired color.

Most epoxy is a light yellow color, but it can be easily colored with a liquid or powdered colorant. This way, you can enhance DIY projects or even add a splash of color to your furniture.

You can buy colorants that are commonly used for painting and inks, or you can make them yourself from household items.

To create your own colors, simply mix one ounce of epoxy resin with one fluid ounce (30 mL) of the desired color.

Use a small mixing container to mix the colorant with the epoxy resin. You will need to use exactly the same amount of colorant, and it is important to follow the instructions on the container.

Before pouring the epoxy resin onto your project, you should ensure that the mix is properly mixed. You should also wear rubber gloves and safety goggles during the process.

Adding A Tabletop

An epoxy-filled tabletop can give your house a rich and luxurious look.

Its smooth surface blends well with the decor of your house, while also leaving a beautiful shine. You can even use epoxy to protect the artwork. Its glossy finish will give the illusion that the tabletop is made of wood.

The material is easy to use and is a fun way to decorate your home. You can use it to create wall art, jewelry, table tops, and more.

Epoxy resin is also very versatile, and you can use it for different kinds of projects. For example, you can add a personalized name or message to a table using epoxy.

The resin used to make a tabletop should be UV-resistant. If not, it may begin to yellow after a while. UV-resistant epoxy products are available, and most are meant for indoor use.

You should also check the label to make sure that your product is UV-resistant, as a non-UV-resistant product may yellow over time.

Once the tabletop is ready, you can begin to add an edge. This will prevent the resin from flowing over the table's edge. To add an edge to your table, use molding that matches the table's corners.

Make sure to cut the molding ends at a 45-degree angle, so that they fit the corners of the table. Once this is done, secure the molding edges using nails.

Making A Coaster

Using epoxy resin as a base is a great way to create a coaster that looks upscale.

You can add white mica or dye to the resin before pouring it into a mold. You can also leave some of the resin uncolored. Start by pouring some clear resin into the mold. Then, drizzle a bit of white epoxy over the top. After this, you can add the gold flake.

Once you have the epoxy ready, you can create a beautiful coaster for your home. You can even use dried flowers to create a beautiful design.

Dried flowers are perfect for coasters, and they can add a woodsy vibe to your decor. You can even try different flowers to create a colorful impression.

Besides being eco-friendly, epoxy resin is also food-safe. It is non-toxic and has zero volatile organic compounds (VOC). The good news is that it is also scratch-resistant. It also offers UV protection.

When working with this material, make sure to be in a well-ventilated area, and keep fans on. The resin should not be spilled on anything, so use caution when working with it.

To make a coaster with epoxy, you can either pour it in one layer or in two. For the first layer, you pour small amounts of resin, about half an inch thick.

Once the first layer is dry, you add the second layer of resin, usually about an eighth inch thick. Once the second layer is dry, you can place the items inside it.

Final Word

Working with epoxy resin is safe as long as you take the necessary precautions. It is a great material to use for DIY projects, and it can add a touch of luxury to your home.
