As a child, Medusa both terrified and fascinated me. For the uninitiated, Medusa was an important character in Greek mythology and was a chthonic monster who could turn anyone into stone by gazing in their eyes (told you its scary stuff). The Medusae lamp doesn’t have the same effect on me and thankfully it’s not been inspired by the monster but something as harmless as jellyfish which is found deep in the sea. Designed by Roxy Towry-Russell, the lamp is a hypnotic homage to the seafaring creatures and hence is quite a radical departure from the usual prosaic pendant lamps. The lamps emanate beautiful soft light that lends a rare mysterious quality to them and result in a multi-sensory experience.
