After the sheer decadence of the Sparkly Barbecue Grill, the Reclaimed Seatbelt Chair serves as the perfect anecdote to get back to reality. Designed by Adam Barron, a student at University of Cincinnati, this stunning chair is surprisingly made of materials collected from the local junkyard. Manufactured from a steel rod frame and seat-belts, Barron wanted to communicate the five Japanese design principles: humor, craftsmanship, compactness, asymmetry and simplicity and there is no arguing that he achieved it flawlessly. The chair is handmade in New York and is a stunning synthesis of form and function.
